Wild Ponies will be kicking off our Spring Concert Series at the Depot with their own brand of folk/roots/rock - dark lyrics and moody melodies. Doug & Telisha Williams are still a duo but often bring along drummer Jake Winebrenner for most tour dates. Moving away from the folk scene, they've developed a sometimes raw, sometimes raucous, often rockin' sound. Their new CD, Things That Used to Shine, isn't exactly chock full of light-hearted, lilting tunes. The songs "Trigger" and "The Truth Is" deal with some of the more disturbing themes. Their album is climbing the Americana radio charts and their fan base is spreading fast. FYI... Several SxSE members caught Doug & Telisha's sets at the recent Americana Music Festival and have given Wild Ponies RAVE REVIEWS!
We are very pleased to announce that the Dead Dog Saloon of Murrells Inlet will be the restaurant sponsor for the January SxSE Music Feast. The best draft beer in the South is graciously provided by our friends and supporters at New South Brewery. Covered dishes, desserts and other culinary delights are provided by many SxSE members and guests in the delightful tradition of southern hospitality... contributions are never required but are heartily appreciated. (Menu varies for each Music Feast.) Music CDs by the performers, as well as stylish logo SxSE caps and tee shirts with a brand new design will be available for purchase at insanely affordable prices.
Coming this spring... The Randall Bramblett Band in March and The Backsliders in May!
